Have you tried running chkdsk /r by booting from a windows xp disk and using recovery manager? Some disk problems can't be fixed if you run chkdsk from within windows

Do you know the manufacturer/model number of the motherboard? (it's printed somewhere on the motherboard) Or, alternately, the manufacturer and model number of the computer? Neither of those posts...

It shouldnt be any larger than maybe 10kb or so. Why not try this: download a demo of OE Mail Recovery and run the demo on your outbox.dbx. It will list all files that it finds..at least that way...
