personaly i only use one partition with win XP and if windows gets corrupted,i just restore the corrupt file from my xp disk
boot from cd rom , when prompted press R and run a (chkdsk /p)...

Indeed it is a virus/malware as confus-ed states
try this www.symantec.com look for (virus removal tools) lsass.exe is listed .there is one more thing if you are running win xp you must disable...
