Can you ping and access them by IP?
If so make sure Enable NetBios over TCP/IP is checked in Network properties | Internet Protocal (TCP/IP) | Advanced button | WINS tab.

Also check the network card settings in device manager; specifically Power Management tab (if it exists) and make sure "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" is unchecked.

You don't need to apply each SP seperately; SP4 is cumulative so you can install that from go.

It will run with 4 but you will only see 3.12. This is a limitation of the 32-bit OS. You would need 64-bit to see the full 4 gig.

Doesn't take away from the fact that you can't select specific files or folders. If you want to do an image fine but the point is MS don't give you a choice with the native Vista backup.

My laptop Vista Business x64 was affected. Am on holiday so can't say for the other two desktop systems at home.
Seems MS estimate of (only) 12000 users being affected is fairly optimistic.

dcpromo will remove AD but you will probably end up with a mess especially as it is SBS. As already stated backup, format and reinstall is probably the route of least resistance.

The original admin account isn't using roaming profiles is it; or running a hidden logon or startup script?
