    NT 4.0 can't shutdown automaticaly

    Hi,

    Here is my pbm:

Everytime I try to shutdown the server, the folowing applications need manual termination by clicking end task:
    vpipclink
    scan
    action

This prevent the server to shutdown/restart automaticaly.

    Thanks for your help.

    Yann.

    Welcome to WD Yann A.,
I would like you to shed more light on the problem.
Try searching for the files you mentioned - look on the file details and are they suspicious.
Disconnect the computer from the internet To rule out any computer interefering yours.

Please send back your remarks + Service Pack Level and other useful information.

    Cheers,
    Gabriel

Those 3 errors does not exist in file, I have run a search on the Local drive, they does not exist.
Can't disconnect from the internet as the server is in use.

    NT4 SP6a.

If the server is being restarted and after restart I do another shutdown, I am able to shutdown smoothly. Searched in the Task Manager for the services, no such services that is having the similar name.

    Please help. Thanks.

Just a long shot - it might be spyware.
I remember I saw something like this while having CWS.Searchx
Try using CD-Shreder in order to remove it - also a good run of Spy bot (or adaware) is always a good idea.

    Hope I helped...
I will be lurking here for your reply,
