[RESOLVED] Matrox G400 IRQ change
I have a G400 with lots of problems. Matrox told me to change the IRQ from 5 that is shared with sound to an open IRQ 10. However windows will not allow me to change it. What do I have to do to change the IRQ setting. Please help

Not sure what motherboard you have but check in your bios. Sometimes you can change the IRQ add. from there.

One more thing. My IRQ is 11 for my v330 AGP video card...maybe try that one. But first check to see if anything else is using that one.

Try to change the IRQ on your soundcard to 5, if it lets you then the Video card will be forced to take another IRQ when you reboot.
feel free to comment on my website. <a href="http://www.bytes-back.co.uk" target="_blank">http://www.bytesback.fsbusiness.co.uk</a>

You might try disabling one of your on-board com ports. That would free up IRQ3 or 4. In my experience, it seems like the video grabs the lowest IRQ available at boot-up. That's why it is using 5. The video card might change to IRQ3 or 4 if one of them were available.
