start button on windows 98

how does the start button end up on the top of the screen if it hasn't been configured that way and how can you change it back to being on the bottom?

Just left click and drag back down to the bottom or to the side. The first time that happened to me I was vexed. The $20 I spent for Windows 98 Annoyances sure has paid off over the last 3 years. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Speaking of moving the "Start" bar, does anyone *EVER* use it from the left or right edge of the desktop?

I think I'v seen 1 user try it - and she reverted back to the triedand true position shortly after.

I used to keep it on top of the screen, because a program I had insisted on opening with the bottom of the window underneath the start bar (Legacy programs sometimes did this.) Now I see a customer from time to time try the sides of the screen, but if their computer is in for repair, the first thing is "Active Desktop OFF" and "Start Bar on the bottom"
