    Resolved [RESOLVED] bios post message

    I have a pcchips mainbord with a american megatrend bios ver 2 10 98s

    when i install a media vision pro audio
    i get with the boot the next warning

    Static Resourse Conflict

    I cant trace the meaning of the message, because everything look to work fine

    If someone knows the meaning or solution
    of this message please answer.

    Your sound card is probably trying to use an interrupt that some device on your motherboard is configured to use. I would guess that your sound card and some device on you motherboard (like a serial port or parallel port) are both trying to use IRQ 3,4,5, or 7. Probably the easiest way to troubleshoot exactly where the conflict is would be to install the sound card in Windows and use device manager.

    It is more than likely that the Media vision card is trying to use IRQ 7, which by default is LPT1, if you disable and/or change your parallel port address in bios and then configure the sound card thru win device manager. Default sound card IRQ's are 5 (SB) or 7 (others)
