Fastest Minesweeper scores...
Just for S**t's and giggles, Let's see minesweeper scores... As a tech I think my most played game so far is minesweeper... (you know the story- the last computer in the shop to work on- The one that the customer says freezes every ten minutes, and no matter how many times you've run a burn-in, system load or MS office program to kill the CPU, it still won't freeze? And of course I don't charge them for Minesweeper diags... )
My best so far is 94sec on expert...
Do one thing everyday that scares you.
Do two things everyday that scare the bejesus out of someone else.

I used to play that one all the time on my P166(solitaire gets pld real quick when you can beat it 3out of 5 games) don't remember any scores, and I just checked I don't have it on a single machine here.... I take that back, I have GMines on the Linux box, I'll have to play for a while now. Back in two days with a score and a headache.

It's been easily a year since I've been bored enough to play games at work.
But I asked around. You beat the best score on any of our systems.. I had a 98 sec, and 2 others guys were near there..

Wow! You guys are good! I was happy that I even BEAT the expert level once, no wait maybe twice. I think the time was around 450 sec or so. Horrid I know, but at least I beat it! Yeeeaaaa for me! LOL

Did novice in 8sec once. I think my best expert was around 134 though.

my best for novice is like 48.
but you can cheat- edit teh ini file on a machine you share with others, and make your time whatever you want. it impresses impressionable people

I was going to be a procrastinator, I just never got around to it.
So, so busy lately. Oh, where do I start?

Novice is easy.. Once in a while on Expert you get lucky and a ton of them are clumped, and 1/2 the board is clear in 2-3 clicks.
Rare tho.. I can almost always beat it. It is afterall logic. Logic is a Tech's best friend.
Just did it in 210 sec.

I have 23 secs in Beginner (Win2K's name for Novice), but that's the only mode I play. The real challenge is playing solitaire for time. With standard score, draw one, for time, I've once gotten over 10,000.

I once did 5 seconds on beginner level. It all fell out on the first click, leaving 2 mines behind. If I hadn't been so surprised, I'd have done it in 2 seconds !
I think I know just enough to know how much I don't know... I think...

Record scores or average scores now?
My Average times:
Beginner 9 seconds
Intermediate 90 seconds
Expert 410 seconds
Of course that was on Windows 3.1 where the mouse had some semblance of control. With 95/98 I get unintended right double-clicks when I place flags and non-correct positioning (try and do it fast with 95/98 you will get incorrect points).
People need to find out the real story before they jump to conclusions drawn from their worst fears.

my friend is sick...he ALWAYS beats novice in under 10 seconds. Basically as fast as he can point and click...he does.
