[RESOLVED] Help with odd problem involving User.exe errors!!

Here's the problem:

We have built this system for a customer:

Intel Boxed PIII 1 Ghz
Tyan s1854 Board
All Component 256 MB PC133 SDRAM (2 sticks)
40 GB Seagate
Evga 32 MB GeForce AGP
Creative Labs Live Value Sound
Creative Labs Modem Blaster
Creative Labs 52x Cdrom
Windows ME
Office 2000
Word Perfect 6.1

We have given her two of these, both fail.

Here's the odd part, they do not fail in our office. We ran it for three days straight without a single error.
We have tested every component for hardware failure none.
We have reinstalled Windows.
We have reinstalled individual apps.
We have ran it with only Windows and Office installed.
We have it on a battery backup at her house.

Still at her house only, she gets "_____________ has caused an error in USER.EXE" everything from IE, Adobe, the screensaver, Winword you name it.

We did detect a wiring fault (hot and nuetral reversed) but have corrected that.

The machine runs perfect in our office, but she can get an error within a few hours. When they do come, they come in hordes. Then she brings it to our office and it is fine.

We need help.

sounds like the error is in USER.HUMAN not User.exe,... or as I like to say..the problems between the keyboard and the chair!

Just a suggestion but it may well be caused by a voltage drop problem on her power supply.
If you`ve a spare UPS to hand you could borrow it to her for a couple of days to see if it cures the problem.

We have it currently on a Battery Backup (UPS), an APC 350.

hmmm... I hate these kinds of problems.

Just a couple of things to consider:

When you've been running it in the office have you been using it in EXACTLY the same way as the customer? Is it possible to have the customer use it when it's setup in your office?

Have you been testing it with the user's keyboard, mouse and other peripherals? Sometimes a bad keyboard can make systems do strange things.

Also, I heard of one case where electromagnetic interference (coming from an electrical fuse box) was making a system play up. They moved it to the other side of the room, and the problems disappeared.
