[RESOLVED] what has happened to the 10-key?
I have a system that has lost the use of the 10-key pad on the keyboard. We have tried numerous different keyboards just to rule out a bad keyboard. All other keys work fine--just no 10-key. Any ideas?

is the num lock light on, on the keyboard? I wonder if you can disable the key pad in windows? check keyboard, and regional settings in control panel. also, check your accessibility settings.

First check in device manager under keyboard and make sure it says "101/102 key or microsoft natural keyboard" If not change it to read as above. If it is set correctly, remove the keyboard from device manager and reboot so windows can reinstall.
If none of the above works, try booting to dos (not a dos window) and see if the keys will work.

Does the keyboard work on another computer? That would be the easiest way to check if it works. If not keyboards don't cost a lot of money anyway. Just rip it in half. Point away from face though. Them keys can fly pretty fast.
