Exclamation Giga-Byte GA-7VTXP MB- RAM ISSUES

Our company just started selling this MB, and we have found that when customers are putting in sticks of 256MB RAM in slot one, they cannot put any RAM in slot 2, or it won't post. They are able to put RAM in slot 3, it posts, and counts RAM properly. This MB is "supposed" to take a total of 3 GB of DRR RAM, 1 GB per slot. The largest RAM we have in stock is 256, and we HAVE duplicate this on several of these boards, no matter what revision of the BIOS is installed.

Anyone else ran into this? or do we have a shippment of bad motherboards? We have contacted Giga-byte, informed them of this problem, but have not heard back from them yet.

If anyone else has this MB, and has the ability to test the above problem, please post back what your findings are.... we have several unhappy customers awaiting a solution for this...

    Thanks....

    Joe

Little bit of an update on this- we heard back from Giga-Byte. They have seen this issue, the RAM they originally tested with this worked fine (they of course did not tell us what brand they used) and apparantly they have seen this with 'certain' brands of memory only (again, they did not inform us what brands). Right now, we are using kinsgton, so until we get something different in stock, we can't test with anything else.

If ANYONE has this MB, and the ability to test this with 256MB ram in more than one slot, please do so, and post your results- we are still trying to locate which RAM we can use for this.

    Thanks...

    Joe
