in windows 98/ME you can go to Start > Run and type winipcfg. In 2000/XP, get an MSDOS command prompt, and type ipconfig.

to find somebody else's ip address if you know the web adress, go to command prompt and type TRACERT (insert address here)

If you want their domain name from their IP, Type this at the command prompt: nslookup Insert IP here To find their IP from domain name: ping Insert Domain Name here
