    Question NVRAM checksum error (amibios)

Installed modem....now I get this right before Windows startup:

    "NVRAM Checksum error, NVRAM cleared"
    "NVRAM Data Invalid, NVRAM cleared"
    "Press for Setup to Boot"

What did I do? How can I fix?

Amibios differs a little from one to another. when you press setup (CMOS SETUP) try correcting the RAM setups.
The RAM sticks could be bad.

    Hello,
After you installed your modem, which I guess is a PnP modem, your Bios updated the ESCD - a PnP hardware table that it uses for configuring your system resorces to Plug and Play devices. So now the values are not the same as the last time you boot up. Please reboot the Pc and make sure you installed the modem correctly (if is fully seated in the Pci socket...).
    Good luck.

    Hello,
Also inside your modem there is a NVRAM - a memory bank - that is used to keep what is called S-registers (the settings for your modem), please make sure that your modem is properly installed and that you have the correct drivers for it. If everything checks Ok, you may have a faulty modem in your hands.
    Good luck.
