Y2K
Next time someone asks you if you think there is an Y2K problem. Look them right in the eye and say I don't think so. By the way dose your car have a computer in it? That should give them something to think about.

You know, I was just thinking the same thing. All the techs unite and go on a cruise or something for the next 2 or 3 weeks.

It really sounds good to me!! At least for all us techies in the northern hemisphere... For a real kick..ask if the customer has performed all the needed Y2K updrades on their VCRs and Microwaves

Check this:
Someone brought me an old 386 yesterday and wanted me to check it's Y2K compatibilty!
Yeah, right!....
When the year changes, it goes back to 1980.
Great, eh?
I said "Have you checked your VCR? It could have the same problem, you know..."

Lets see I've had one lady say she wasn't buying a new 386 untill next year due to y2k. Right now she has a 286. Have a few 486sx's layeing around wanting to be ready for y2k, and I'm expecting more soon. Gonna have to start asking people about their vcr's just for kicks. Whats the best response you've gotten from asking them about their vcr or car?

There is 1 car that I know of thats not Y2k Compliant. Stupid as it may seem a single series of 1987 Cadillacs were made with an experimanetal maintenance tracking computer that is a single board 80286 device. Oh you can still drive it but all of the need service lights will now be on for the rest of time unless you reset the computer.

I hope all the new cars stop working.
Bring back the Muscle Cars, without any traffic on the roads.

Eagle, Bring back muscle cars... get rid of speed limits (or at least raise them to 110 mph). I miss my muscle car.. No govenor on it. I was in my 95 blazer on the turnpike up here in maine and was in a rush. Damn thing kicked out at 100. I'm gonna get that taken care of pretty soon.

Yea really, I miss my 71 camaro with a 402
bigblock and a muncie 4sp, I want lower gas
prices too... instead of going to 2000
how about going back to 1969 so I can buy
one of those corvettes with a 427 and tri-
power carb setups go flower power

I vote for a whop a user day. That is when we all get to carry around a 2x4 and whop any user that has pissed us off in the last year. Now granted this might take down the productivity of the company for a day, but dam_ it would feel so good.

Well, look at the bright side...at least we're not CPAs. Tax returns and Y2K lunacy at the same time. <shiver>
I don't know...that's not helping much. When does that cruise ship leave?

Tech support has stopped taking all calls for y2k issues at my work. Now the only response they get is bring it in, we'll look at it and you will pay us $30. Too bad you left it until the last 36 hours before deciding to do anything about it, you only had the last 1900 years to deal with the problem.

You are lucky. Our store is still takeing phone calls for y2k. We've had a few people respond with "well, I'll wait and see what happens". I'm going to hate coming back to work on monday though.
