[RESOLVED] Techies Point of View - LINUX
Hey Guys, im confuzzled as all heck over here
I want to install linux for a gateway computer here at my house, the computer would be required to do the following
1) PPPoE (Roaring Pengiun) DSL Access
2) Samba Networking (so it can see my shared windows based drives)
3) FTP Server (sharing all my windows based drives)
4) Firewall
The PC I threw together out of junk is the following
Pentium 100mhz
1meg VGA video card
2 Allied Telesyn ISA 10mbit Nics
500meg HD
and a 8x CD-Rom
all in a nice 286 desktop case with no top.. (ask me for a pic sometime if u want) its kinda funny looking..true linux box
What distrobution of linux should i use, and that is easy to learn? (I am not completely PC dumb) as i build computers and provide support for windows based systems.
Slackware 7.2 is out, i hvae tried it and it is too confusing for me.
Also, if somebody wants to spend a couple hours on icq with me after i get this thing set up configuring it properly that would be a great help!

All the info you need you can find in the Linux Documentation Project ...
