    Post Adding file extensions

I have a client that has 5,000 Word documents without extensions. Does anyone know of a program that will add the .doc to these 5,000 files.

I tried doing it in dos but the files are in about 150 folders and several of the files have the same name up to 8 characters.

I found two links to programs that may help you.

    <a href="http://www.1-4a.com/rename/" target="_blank">http://www.1-4a.com/rename/</a>
    <a href="http://www.webattack.com/get/rename4u.shtml" target="_blank">http://www.webattack.com/get/rename4u.shtml</a>

    I think they're free too.

Just curious, how did that happen??

1-4a Rename works great. Thank you.

They created the files with WordPerfect 8 and for some reason it did not put the extension on automatically. Now they want to move to Word. The users didn't understand the concept of extensions. They have been doing it this way for about two years!

    Thanks again.
