Wink CD Media vs. Human Skeleton...

    Hey folks!

I want my information/documents to last longer than the old mortal coil.

How long can one expect a CDR to last?
Do some types or brands last longer than others?

The estimated shelf life of cd media is 100 years (that is cd-r/cd-rw)

The specs say that they must be good for at least 100 years.

but 100 years is under ideal environmental conditions and is never used.

Also I have friends that when buring important data they slow their burner down to like 1x! maybe over kill but they swear by it.
