    Question Playstation Audio Ripper.....

Does anyone know of a ripper that takes the audio from Playstation games? I have found several programs that run using XA,VAB,VAG and the such. All I can find for files are *.img, *.str and *.mbg
    Thanks in advance,

Because I like the music that comes with the games. Why else would I want to extract it..?? I was able to get the entire soundtrack for FF8 but I have found it much harder to find FF9 music and besides if I can extract it myself I don't have to worry about relying on someone elses rips.

I would think that since he owns (hopefully) the games that he is wanting to get the music from then he should be able to rip the music if he wants.

I would try getting on of the old old playstations that had RCA jacks on it and try getting the audio through that.

    Cool

Yes, I do own the actual game(s). As for getting the old Playstation with the RCA jacks, no go. I have already tried that one and falls very short.

Because some games cannot be 'copied' without removing the audio first, thats why I asked.

I think you can Use most CD creation software to rip those audio tracks.

I think I remember this correctly. Some games use redbook audio where the music is separate from the game program itself, thus if you pop the game cd into any audio cd player you can listen to the music, you should be able to rip this like any other cd audio track. The music is most other games is part of the game's program itself, most likely in a proprietary format, I think that's what zombie is wanting to capture. I'd like to know how to rip this music myself, games like Castlevania:SOTN have really cool music.

I don't really know if you have the original if you can rip the music. I spose it would be like owning an audio cd and ripping a song off of it to convert as MP3 for you own use.

Anyway, go here http://segu.psxemu.com/ and click on the PSMPLAY menu.

Man can not live on beer alone....But he can sure try!

If there is a way then I am unable to figure it out. I have Easy CD Creator 4.0 Deluxe and I see now way of getting the audio from the Playstation disk. I can see the files and I can copy them to my HDD but the format and converting them to Waves or heck even MP3's is where I am having the problem.

You are correct about what I want to do. As for "Popping" it into my cd and playing it. No go, I only wish it was as simple as that. I have found a few programs that claim to extract the files but I cannot get them to work...

I can get the movie extractor to work and to save but not the sounds/music...UGHHHH!!!!

Wouldn't play at all. Ran into the same problem I am running into here. I cannot extract the sound/music from the CD(s) to copy to my hard drive.
