Shouldn't need a cdrw driver for xp or any windows unless you are still using msdos 6.22 or 7.0.
What cdrw software do you use?????
See if there is a firmware update for your cdrw to correct any issues as in not being identified in windows xp.
Also, you must using a beta version of winxp, it might just have an issue with your cdrw until micro$oft fully releases by OCT 25th or earlier. Does this only happen with winxp or any other os????

Install the Windows 2000 ASPI layer drivers from Adaptec, via their website.
