Post Where to get parts?

I am in the process of a new mod and need some unusual parts and have no idea where to look. I can find neon and all that good stuff anywhere online, Radioshack for any other electrical parts. I was wondering if there is anywhere else I can turn to for parts. I need a regular push button switch with a trigger guard on it like you see in the movies(when the president launches the nuke). I haven't seen any sold at radioshack and don't know where to look on the internet for it. Any ideas?

    A good case of STFW

Just do a quick search on http://www.google.com/ with keywords such as "PC case modifications".

You could even break it down further by specifying what you're looking for ant the name of your state.

Found this one http://www.webejeepin.com/Techtips.htm I know it's not the exact one you're looking for but it's the best I could do.

You can probably find one from: All Electronics. Just curious, what are you planning on using it for?

I have an ammo box I was modding out that looks pretty cool. I have the chasis in the box and just need some finished touches, however, I can't seem to find the damn switch I want. I want a switch for the front to be like the ones you see in movies where they launch a missle(or something to that effect). You know, like in a submarine movie they always lift up a trigger guard then push the big red button to detonate or what have you.

I found a lot of good stuff at autozone -- lots of switches, lights, etc. Meijer (like a wal-mart) has some stuff too.

no..hes really an international terrorist looking to make a nuclear launch device, and the only thing he was missing was that cool trigger button with the orange striped plastic guard.

quite honestly i dont know where you would find one. joystick makers call them a "missile launcher with safety cover". but doing a search for that only comes up with the joysticks....

heres what i recommend. go find a saitek joystick at a compusa that has the trigger guard your looking for. when nobody is looking, swing around and knock the thing on the ground as HARD as you can. go "ah ****". step on it 'accidently' until you can pull the trigger off. then pocket it and leave.

    lol.

    or jack your friend's.

Any good electronics factor, I could name dozens or this side of the water. Think RS operate in the states as well. Get an electonics hobbiest magazine and look through the ads.

Also, check out your local Home improvement store (Home Depot) and your local auto parts store (Pep boys, Track Auto). They have lots of that kind of stuff.

    Lightbulb

Look in your local Army surplus store.
If not any around then look for the next F-18 at the local coffee shop and swip his.

But if no luck Radio Shack should cary that switch.
