    Post Explorer has generated errors...

On a W2k Pro machine Explorer crashes whenever I open My Computer and go up one level to show the Desktop in Explorer. I get "Explorer has generated errors and will close."

I tried rerunning SP2 but no luck.

    Anybody got ideas?
Indeterminism. There's nothing you can do about it.

this usually happens with an application that interacts with the desktop in some way such as ws_ftp and the application isn't closing down the registry keys when it exits.

has this started happening since you've loaded a particular program if so uninstall it ant see if the problem goes away. also close down any programs in the system tray. basically about the only way to isolate the problem is start uninstalling progs. might whant to check your event viewer for any for clues.

Is this by any chance a pc that was upgraded from a previous OS or was it a clean install of W2K? I know there are some issues when doing an upgrade as compared to a clean install. Also if you have Norton products, may be the culprit!
