Post Adding a Firewire Port to a Laptop.

A school I work at is trying to hook up a digital camcorder to a laptop, but it doesn't have a built in Firewire port. It does have one USB port however. Is there such a thing a a PC Card(PCMCIA) Firewire card that I can put in the expansion slot of a laptop? If there is, where can I find one.
