I really like VNC. It works as well as PC Anywhere, and its free.
Search for it on cnet downloads if you want to try it out.
The truth is out there, you just need to decrypt it.

VNC is good, So's PCanywhere ($$$) or you can use remote desktop sharing in netmeeting, it's quick and easy to setup and comes with every windows os (or small download from MS). Just remember with all these programs, make sure your security is well in place. especially Pcanywhere which has tons of software just to scan for it's ports (hint: you can change the default ports it uses).

VNC is good but doesn't really work well over 56k connections. For that you might want to look at tightVNC. Same thing just with better compression. Check it out here.

If terminal services is an option, I think it is your best option. Are you looking to work on the server, from your desktop, without using server tools on the PC? Terminal services, administrative mode, is quick, and requires no additional licenses to run.
With VNC, PCAW, or any of these desktop 3rd party tools, you are actually running the desktop of the server, that means the console is active. With a terminal connection, the console will still remain in a locked state, or can be logged into by another admin, while your session remains untouched, unless of course a reboot is initiated…
Check it out if you haven't tried it yet. I think you will like it allot...

What?
I tell you what, why don't you tell us exactly what administration you are trying to accomplish, and with which OS's. Be a bit more descriptive. You have us running around in circles...

Well I can test it out for you. But I will need to learn more about the 16 bit client. The only ones that I have ever seen are offered by Citrix, but I think I have to install MetaFrame on the server in order for any of the Citrix clients to connect.
Do you have a DOS client I could try?
And why a 16bit client? Just curious.

Well I have a shipment of donated computers that are 486 and 386 and want to test them as terminals. I could install Windows 95 and install the 32 bit Terminal Service Client but I want to use the less resorses as posible to experiment with them.

Well you should have said that in the begining.
Like I said, I could test things out if you have a client in mind...
