MMmmmmm.. theres something really, really groovy about the older muscle cars. The SS Camaro's, the Australian Valiant Chargers... plenty of chrome, atitude, and displacement..

Another modern classic, that almost falls into the affordable catagory, are the Holden Special Vehicles range. All cars are built in limited numbers, individually numbered, and can be made to order.

Lets make the distinction between musclecars and classic cars. A muscle car has traditionally been American made, with lots of horsepower to the rear tires. A classic car can be anything that is popular when its released, and has the ability to inspire future generations of auto designers.

Here is my short list of sure fire musclecars:

    - Mustang Saleen Cobra Supercharged (380 horses)
    - Corvette C5
    - Ford F150 Lightning
    - Big Diesel Pickups (These could be the new muscle trucks)
    - Dodge Viper (affordable supercar)
    - Various REAR WHEEL drives from Japan and elsewhere (they need to be fast though)

I wouldnt like to suggest that a 'muscle' or performance car can *only* be rear wheel drive.

I would call the Nissan Pulsar GTiR a classic, thats 4 wheel drive. Maybe the Subaru WRX, and early model Lancer GSR's? Fantastic cars, that revolutionised the japanese performance market.

The Honda Civic Vtir, various peugot's, the N12 series of Nissan turbo cars, all of which front wheel drive, and very capable of holding their own.

A sports car can be rear, front, or 4 wheel drive.

A Classic Car doesn't have to be any particular configuration. Just worthy of holding a place in automotive history.

A Musclecar: Here's the listing from Merriam Webster Online:

    Main Entry: muscle car
    Function: noun
: any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving

I've been looking to buy a 1968 Camaro SS. SWEET. They start at about $4000 and go up to about $30000. I want a black or silver one.
