I don't know if the brand name is used anywhere but here in Australia. It is not highly regarded.

I've seen a couple of low-end 14" monitors with the KTX name (not to be confused with KDS which isn't half bad). Don't they make notebooks, too?

WE used to get a lot of KTX modems here a year or two back. I've installed quite a few and not had any problems with them. Also seen their monitors here but not used any so can't comment on reliability/quality.
I think I know just enough to know how much I don't know... I think...

Yep, the modems were ok, same with the monitors. We still have a bit of stuff around but it will soon go out of warranty.

PS - Edge went bust nation wide as far as I know, can any of u aussie guys confirm that ?

Thumbs down

Ahhhh.KTX and the EDGE technologies...
KTX was distributed in Australia solely by the EDGE computers.....They went bust in July last year the largest wholesaler in AUs......KTX being a crappy brand has many many many warranty claims and was probably the reason why the company went bust....
I have been fighting their receivers for the last year nearly to honour my warranty claims which is at present estimated (NO JOKE) at 65% of all purchases......We had a minor win last week but are still struggling for our many customers who have ben left high and dry...
oh and another thing as well as having crappy equiptment the drivers for all the stuff is impossible almost to aquire now...

Edge in New Zealand was bought out so there is still some semblance of support here.

As far as the quality goes, it varied a lot and you had to be very picky...as you still do with other suppliers. We've seen some truly evil mobo/ram combinations(mostly Intel based systems without enough RAM timing flexibility).

Some of the KTX branded modems were OK. In fact I still seek one particular model of ISA modem which for some reason would connect and download at 56kbps on most lines.

Not had much to do with them, only a couple of modems that were bought before I started here. They do still work though.

Funny enough I have two KTX modems running on my gateway hub...they have never failed....many older KTX modems installed perfectly as standard modems which saved on driver searches...but their other equiptment including most speaker systems ....yuk
