Post A Plague On My House...

Two weeks ago, my son Tim came back from play school with a nice set of spots - Chickenpox. My daughter broke out last night - pox everywhere. I haven't been feeling too hot lately but, when I woke up this morning...guess what? Chicken Pox, dammit. This is not at all nice and I had it when I was a kid. Apparently I must be very unlucky

I had to deal with chicken pox seven years ago, when I was 20. I couldn't stay at home because it was during the graduation exams of my tech school.

    Patience, Noonoo. Patience.

Sorry to hear that NooNoo. Unfortunately, adult Chicken Pox is supposed to be much worse than the child version. Maybe you'll get off easy because you had it before. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery. Feel better.

I knew cleaning up after those teletubbies was going to get you sick eventually.

I just found out that the reason you want your kids to get while very young is that if you get it when you are an adult you can DIE from it!

Needless to say Doctor's appointment now booked - hope hubby gets back in time to drive me, cos there is no way I can.

You're not this first adult I've heard that has contracted a "child" illness for a second time.

I wonder just how effective vaccines administered in the past were.

Rest, relax, drink a lot of water and keep a close eye on your temperature.

I'd even go as far as advise you to stay out of WinDrivers for a couple of days, but that would be like going without food, wouldn't it?

My mom had 1 chicken pox (or pock) when she was a kid. Me and my sister both had them and she never got it. NooNoo you probably didn't build up the immunity the correct way after having them the first time.

Tell your lymphatic system to get it right this time.

    Good luck with recovery.

    yes get better noo noo!
chicken pox as an adult can be bad, but it's very rarely fatal (usually only in the very elderly or those with weak immune systems) If you rest and follow the doctors orders you should be fine. Get better!

Noo Noo, hope you and the little one get better soon. Try oatmeal baths, that seems to take the itch off.

    Update:

Well hubby did get back intime and I saw the doc and he's given me the antiviral tablets - 1 5 times daily... lots of rest, no work, sleep when you can, dump the kids on hubby for up to TWO weeks!!

Wonder if I can fool hubby for a month??

    Nah this stinks

Apparently getting chicken pox for a 2nd time is as about as likely as winning the lottery - soooo, no point in buying a ticket this week...BAH

Anyway hopefully I won't get pneumonia from this - waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

If I don't look after myself I could be really screwed for months. So its lots of rest and lots of dumb posts when I can't sleep - you have been warned!
