Just wanted to say that I have been running ME since October of Last year on 3 different machines same OS not clean installs. Originally it was..but when I changed machines I pulled the HD and kept on trucking.
The OS has not crashed on me. Using Norton AV has caused more problems than anything else. <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">
Would you like fries with that?

To be honest, most of the crashes aren't Windows fault - it's some crappy third party app!
For example, a couple of weeks ago I was having horrible problems with my computer. Without warning, if I pressed the SHIFT key (yes, that's right, the SHIFT key!) the comp would BSOD, and if I pressed SHIFT again it would lock up solid. The cause: a bad antivirus signature update. I reinstalled the AV update and everything is smooth sailing ever since.

haven't had a crash in over a year, just a couple of freeze ups from the Acsess Manager that comes with Sympatico high speed.
I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

Hey DANIMAL, do yourself a favour: dump that crappy Access Manager and use RASPPPoE instead. http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~normanb/
It beats Access Manager with a stick.

A while back I was running WinME on a PII350/128MB system and I upgraded to IE 6.0 public beta. BIG MISTAKE. Completely hosed mediaplayer 7. Starting getting frequently BSOD and lock-ups when online and playing mp3s at the same time. Then the thing wouldn't boot. Tried the system restore, no luck. Ended up reloading win86se/IE 5.5.
Another time I was installing win95b from scratch on an old IBM PC350 p133/32mb. Fdisk/format went fine. Did a scandisk for bad sector b/c it was an old disk - no probs. Started installing the OS and got through the setup script with no major problems. Even used 3com 509b nic b/c 95 has the drivers pre-loaded. After the first reboot setup attempts to load the drivers for the S3 virge onboard vid card and the damned thing hangs. Attempt to reboot praying for safe mode and it hangs again in the same place. Tried several more reboots with no luck. Fdisk/format/scandisk/install again with the same prob. Tried several 95 CDs and all did the same thing (Still have not completely figured this one out. Think maybe a bad vid card or MOBO.)
Have many, many other stories to tell but these are most recent. Not enough time to tell the all.

Heres another crash [if u can call it a crash] for your Win2k list.
The keyboard just stopped responding, everything else worked frine apart from the damm keyboard, Several reboots later they keyboard still locks up after 5-10 mins of use.
The only thing I found out was that just before they keyboard gets losts an event log is displayed informing me that my e: drive is nearly full. I freed some space on e: and its cured the problem.
Strange!!!!!!!!
