Question Sony trv330 Camera to capture video to PC

    Hi,
I just bought a Hi8 camcorder sony trv330 and it comes with usb cable but I cant figure out how to capture video. win2k doesnt pick it up as a capture device. I can only download still images.

Do I need to use its firewire capabilities to get it to capture video?????

    Thanks

I don't have any experience with Firewire, but common sense would tell me that you'd want a card with good driver support for all the major OS's - Win9x, Win2K, xp, etc. Spend the extra money so you can take the card with you on any future OS upgrades. Adaptec comes to mind as a reputable company.

    Cool

Any fire wire card will do BUT,...
try to get one from a reputble companie that deal with Video.
you can get the Pinnacle Studio DV including
Editing software and tech support for about 70$.

Any good firewire card will do. What is important is the software it is bundled with. I found out the hard way that the software bundles are not the latest versions and to buy a full version of an acceptable editing program is not all that expensive either. I use ULEAD VideoStudio 5, downloaded from the internet for $120.- and a card that cost less than 50 Bucks. Results are great because the software does it not the card.
