Unhappy AOPEN AK73 Pro - Dr. Voice saying HD Bad but HD seems to work fine.

I don't understand why Dr. Voice is saying "There may be a problem with your HD". I am putting this computer for a friend and the HD is a 20 Gig Samsung. The HD seems to be working fine. The MB detects it's size and all that fine. I am right now formating it and installing Win98. Anybody know if the Dr. Voice is faulty or if my HD really is bad but just seems to work?

    20G Samsung HD
    AK73 Pro MB (AOPEN)
    128MB Ram
    650 Duron

    Thanks,
    Eric

Software might be using the S.M.A.R.T system to check the HDD..

if this is not supported by your drive or maybe disabled in BIOS you'd probably get this message..

    Figured it out.

Well, I figured it out. I believe Dr. Voice detected that the HD was unformatted so that is why it gave the error message. Soon as the HD was formatted it stopped saying that.

    Somewhat related:
    I personally own this Motherboard.
It uses AWARD BIOS. Many of the problems I have encountered using my system - resolved by updating the BIOS.
You can download the BIOS from AOPEN Website using the URL:
    http://www.aopen.com/tech/download/mbbios/ak73pro.htm

It is fairly easy and worth it.

    Good Luck,
