    Yeah! Too bad I have NO idea how to deal with IE not opening as quickly as it should, which is somehting that it's always done on that machine...

    OK, so going back over what has been done.

    • BIOS reset to defaults
    • Chipset drivers installed
    • OS reinstalled
    • Latest drivers
    • PC Check has been run, no errors found
    • um, can't remember anything else...


    Is it onboard sound / seperate card? maybe conflicting devices?
    All sorts of wonderful things in life.

    It has both on-board sound and a SoundBlaster Live! Platinum 5.1 in it. But, it was opening IE slowly long before I ever installed the SB Live! card.

    And yes, the above checklist is all correct.
