It used to be Netscape until it got buggier with each new version...

Then I met Opera and it was a firey passion...

But now I'm stuck in a rut with IE6.

I am too lazy to install another browser...
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

I'm with NooNoo...there's no real reason for me to waste the time to install another browser when IE6 does it all and then some. I'm sick of Netscape, they went down the tube, and Opera is decent at best...long live IE!

    IE6 Rules...for now.

Sure, I'd *like* to use something other than IE, but I find that it's the one that adheres most closely to the W3C standards of displaying HTML, and for someone who likes to play around making web pages, that's a rather important point.

Opera, I think, would be my next choice, but they aren't the best at adhering to the standards.

Netscape has become a joke. Ever since AOL/TW took them over they've gone down the tubes.

Mozilla's cool, but it lacks quite a bit in the realm of displaying HTML to spec...

Yes indeed, IE is the way I'll be heading for the forseeable future.

That said... do you test your webpages in IE (6) *only* or do you test in previous IE versions and/or in Netscape/other browsers?

I think that I like Opera the most, but I dare say it eats memory like no other. I watch this on my Win2k machine -- two windows open in Opera (tabbed mode) will easily take up nearly 50 megs of memory. And I'm not talking pages with flash items and whatnot, just regular stuff.

I think that if Netscape 7 rendered as fast as Opera, I would choose that.

IE 6 on my winxp does everything I need. Netscape 6.2 is every bit its equal, cept for the occasional bug. Unless Netscape 7 is significantly better than ie6 i will stick with ie6. Never tried opera or any other.

Well, I must admit that I usually only test it in IE (usually back down to 5 SP2). The few times I've tested things in other browsers, I have been rather unpleasently surprised. I write some of my HTML straight on notepad following the W3C guidelines and others I write in Frontpage 2000. Not the best, I know, but I like it. I've also found that sometimes, even the pages written with notepad don't even display properly in other browsers besides IE. Go figure.

I started in '94 with Netscape. I loved it until AOL/TW bought it out. Then went to IE after reinstalling Windows 3 times in less than a month due to an overzealous downloading teen. I've been too busy to really sit down and learn to use Opera.

Every once in a while, when time permits, I D/L and install Netscape 4.7(?). It's on the machine 'til the next format.

I use IE but if mozilla worked on all web pages like IE does, then I'd make the switch in a nanosecond. At least they fixed the font problems with Mozilla in Red Hat 7.3
