wtffffffff is tkbell.exe?
and why is it running in my system?
task mgr: no reference to tkbell.exe in applications or processes
msconfig: no reference to tkbell.exe
google : nothing informative
start>help and support>use tools...>my computer information>view a list of microsoft software installed on this computer= TkBell.exe , install date, unknown.
Now I am totally paranoid, is Taco Bell and/or Tinkerbelle infiltratring my pc as well as my large intestine?
I wouldn't have even seen this except for that I a reading an XP book right now, which talks about this feature.. otherwise I have been insalling and supporting xp for a year now w/o encountering this.
what is this this file???
OMFG i am so desparate. help plz if you can..

Amazingly I searched for that file and turned up nothing, but I remeber running iinto it before. IIRC, I suspect it is actualty part of Real Player, and I don't think tkbell is the filename, that is just the string name in the registry, look at the command name column rather than the startup item column.

my question here is: why would Tinkerbelle be infiltrating your large intestine?

This from a search of google groups asking what is tkbell
After you start
realplayer, you'll see "tkbell.exe" suddenly appear there. That's the
realplayer 'sniffer' utility

I was just using Startup Control Panel (Great Tool!) and saw that in my machine as well...looks to be part of RealOne Player...I've disabled it and no problems!

Those rats at Real, here's the full registry key:
Registry Key Location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
Key Name: TkBellExe
Value: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\evntsvc.exe -osboot
Probably Real's spyware. You can try deleting or renaming the evntsvc.exe, allthough if you update Real, it is bound to show up again.

Why is tkbell on your system???
Hello genius, the tkbell.exe is the program that runs the Realone or Realplayer agent. After you in stall realplay or ANYTIME you run realplayer or realone, it activates tkbell to make the agent run all the time. You can turn the file off and delete it if you don't want it running.
It is not a virus
