not really
ususally means the motherboard battery needs replacing

that would be CMOS checksum error.
I was trying to flash my BIOS and accidently hit the reset button. I've been trying to re-flash the BIOS and I get the BIOS Checksum error.
Kinda nasty. Now I need to find a good BIOS (that matches mine) and do some BIOS chips magic.
Yeah me!

If all you need to do is get a new battery I would do that. However if a new bios is required I would FIRST contact the MOBO manufacturer. They often have their own bios'. AND they're cheaper. However if you need to get a new bios I would suggest this link.

Oh my. What motherboard is it?
You may be "up sh*t creek".
Is your bios socketed?
That's the worst looking hat I ever saw. You buy a hat like that I bet you get a free bowl of soup. It looks good on you though.

I would check the battery also...
What util did you try?
By just only pressing reset button you couldn't destroy the BIOS chip itself, so, most likely BIOS chip is still O'K and can be reflashed back - read more about it in my bookmarks...

Ruslan - Sorry to put this here - but your PM boxes are full and I can't send you a pm...
If you just clear out your inbox, it is not enough, you have to clear the sent items and message tracking too.... caught a few of us out.

Motherboard = Abit BX133 RAID.
I've tried just about everything: flashing with the different versions of my BIOS, swapping chips, etc.
It's hosed.

Oh well, now you have a valid excuse to upgrade.

Oh, I'm getting a new Mobo.
It will probably be the same one as before since I don't want to hassle with changing drivers and stuff.
