    Question Secondary IDE controller gone!

    I'm trying to recover a Dell A07 MB after a hard drive crash and have discovered that the primary IDE works fine, but CMOS won't recognize anything on the secondary IDE (HD, CD-ROM, ZIP, anything).
    There is only one IDE controller chip that I can find. Am I missing something? When only one IDE connector is recognized does this suggest a bad controller? I've scanned for boot viruses.
