Skeech?
Customer had the js.exception.exploit trojan on his machine for about 6 months. Norton would identify, but not do anything about it. Machine was brought to me, I followed the Norton removal instructions, deleted all temp, and temporary internet files, made the necessary registry changes for the default url's. Ran a trojan removal program, no hits. Ran a spyware removal program, removed 39 spyware hits. Everything works, except if I'm on the net using explorer, and I type www.msn.com to go there, I always go to www.skeech.com. Searched the registry for skeech, no hits. Searched Google for skeech, and there's a few threads about skeech taking over a machine, but no real answers. Have the techs here seen this before?
Tks.

Do a search in the registry for skeech - it will be set probably as the fall back page
I assume you are talking about ie 6 - this is what an xp reg entry looks like with a clean install and just the home page set to google.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Check the hosts file for any weird entries. Do a search on your computer for a file named "hosts" (with no extension)
