boot setup?
NOw that I've given up the idea of raid on this machine, I've put 3 80Gb HDD's on the promise ata100 controller. I installed win98se on drive C, and WinXP on drive D. It, so far is working well. My ?, Can I add SUSE Linux to the third HDD and do a triple Boot? Is triple booting these three Operating systems possible?
HP Laptop 6830s with 4 Gbs ram and a 250gb HDD I run Vista business 64bit. But I have some old computers too.

Yes it is possible to have 3 os's on one system.
You just have to install then in the right order to get the proper boot options. Linux will have it's LILO loader with a boot menu and should include your windows o/s's as options as well. Just as long as you do the partitioning correctly.

Yes it will work, just install the 2 windows systems, then suse and if given the option use grub, it may not be as pretty, but I have had better luck with it when using ntfs file system

you're in a vicious cycle my grilled cheese friend.
you can't boot into linux now because MS has taken over the MBR where your linux boot loader resided.
welcome to the joys of multibooting.
have you considered something like vmware or virtualpc to run linux in virtual machine.??

Ok, during linux setup it told me this message: The Lilo bootsector has been written to disk. You can instal the old bootsection in the installed system with lilo-u/dev/ude
If I ran that command in linux, would that give me back my right windows option at boot?

well, there is a way to get windows to load the lilo boot loader. I've done it with debian (with instructions from someone else)
now, these are the steps i've been giving...
during the installation, you WANT to load lilo, but you do NOT want it to write the MBR
mount your c drive and make a folder, say "c:\linux"
the name of the cdrive in linux will be "cdrive"
if you can't mount your cdrive, sustitute the location of /cdrive for /floppy
now, when i mark a ? you need to put in the partion where linux is loaded(numerical)
in the /etc folder (in linux) type "lilo"
type the folowing "dd if=/dev/hda? of=/cdrive/linux/boot.lnx bs=512 count=1"
if this is made to the floppy, boot to windows and copy the boot.lnx to the hard drive
Edit the boot.ini and add a line
c:\linux\boot.lnx="Linux distro name here"
should work from there
