Any one help with the above I;m totally confused with ata, udma etc etc
The good news is any EIDE/ATA drive. You do not want a serial ATA drive. ATA/UDMA is just how fast the data transfers. You can put (if you wanted to) an old 2 gig drive in there and it would work. My suggestion would be to go for a Seagate Barracuda ATA100 drive. What is your budget for a drive?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
Cheaper the better Possibly building the pc with a view to selling it on when complete.
Then at least put a halfway decent drive in there... Seagate, Western Digital Maxtor
