My latest challenge is upgrading an old 486 with 16mb of RAM using Win3.1 to Win95 and getting it internet ready.
And yes, it has a modem, a 9600bps!
After I put in a new modem, my challenge is finding ram for this thing, I think its 40-pin Edo. I'm not sure. I have a friend who seems to know old computers.
How can I find out for sure? It doesn't say what kind it is on the ram itself.

That should be 30 pin, and I don't think there ever was EDO in 30 pin simm packaging......hard to find, but when you find it, its usually free. People may want to charge you for the 4MB sticks, which were the biggest they ever got

Pizza box
Have an old HP Vectra VL Pizza box with upgraded memory and hard drive. It runs Windows XP, and all the drivers were included in XP. Has a Pentium III 500 and 512 Meg of ram. Mama uses it for letters and Email.

A 386 desktop with 3 big MB, no sound card and an Orchid graphics card, running Windows 3.1. My father used it to play his favorite games on and I did not have the heart to can it after he died. It still runs great.
I didn't surrender, but they took my horse and made him surrender. They have him pulling a wagon up in Kansas I bet.

My oldest system is NOT running at the moment (bad PSU). It's a custom Duron 800/256MB/20GB/32MB video.
Everything older is either in parts or donated to a family member.
