Does DDR type 2100 and 2700 work together?
Hi all,
Have a question. Can I use DDR type 2700 memory in a computer that already has DDR type 2100 memory. The motherboard supports type 2100 as well as type 2700. Or does it depend on the motherboard whether you can use both types together.
I accept that the speed will be that of the type 2100 for now. Price for both types is the same now. So type 2700 would be preferred when in future expansion the type 2100 is replaced and the extra speed gain would be welcome.
Does any of you have experience with this?

put the 2100 is the first slot, the 2700 in the second, if you motherboard is not picky, then it will run ok and the 2700 will be running at 2100 - only way to tell is to try.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Thanks a lot Noo Noo.
I put in the 2700 the way you said and it works nicely with the 2100.
