You got it all wrong, I am the one making all the plans. God is just my front man...

Pornography, prostitution, homosexuality, drugs/narcotics, all erode moral substance. We accept one, then the other, then the other, and we will crumble, although not tomorrow, it will happen.

The way I see it, legal prostitution will erode yet another layer of moral substance from the fabric of human society. Legalizing it will only bring forth short-term relief to some of the basic problems. Sure, it might eliminate the disease transfer if the brothels are regulated, and all precautions are met. But absolute compliance must be attained, or that theory is moot. As well there will still be people out there that have a disease that will continue to turn tricks. Whether at a legal brothel that doesn’t check thoroughly enough, or independently, at a cut rate from the brothels. So legalizing it isn’t protecting society that much at all.

Of course “there will be less crime associated with this sort of thing”…well no-$hit, legalize murder and there will be less crime, that’s a no brainer. Oh, of course you mean the organized crime, pimps, and other dirty dead doers outside the actual sex for money part. Well, in order for them to be eliminated, you must legislate, and then enforce all aspects of the new profession. That takes tax money and resources. New agencies would need to be created all over the country, as the EPA and Child Services would be out of their league. Police would still be involved, but to a different degree. And it would cost ample, all to do what?…Legalize prostitution! Sham on you all!

Prostitution will never replace the level of decency in truly consensual sex. Therefore it is simply a perverse let-out for man and his beast the sexual urge (some women too I am sure). Is this something we should accept without a fight from opposition?…NO! That is why I am here. I may not be 100% convinced in the idea that prostitution should be illegal, or even that homosexuality is perverse and the work of the devil, but the fact is that with me to force you to reflect on the idea that these things are all indecent you might just take a moment and rationalize my point of view, perhaps see that there is more to it than you really think.

Wasn’t it you that compared my views to that of the Nazis? That by unconditional non-acceptance I am in fact perpetuating another holocaust against homosexuals? Well let’s put that in perspective, I see the problem being the eventual complete collapse of morality in our society. By my intervention at every crossroad, I am doing my part to protect that moral ground.

    You were saying?

The fact that it has swapped back and forth from legal to illegal, yet always been here, and our society still not only stands but continues to progress, in my eyes, shows that the slippery slope argument you are using on morality is a moot point. Rather it is a tactic that shows a fear in growing more in my eyes, yet I am the one that could be wrong.

I did not relate you to Nazi's in the point that you do not accept, but in your desire to segment off the population more, to lay blame to segments of the population, and your off hand remarks that if you eliminate the gay community, then you eliminate the problem. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and their voice, I was referring to the actions that I percieved you gravitating towards.

As far as protection, we deal with that on a daily basis with the food industries, the medical industries, automobiles, toys, clothes, asbestos, alcohol, tobacco and so on. Everything has a potential harm, and honestly, we are coddeling ourselves too much, in my mind. You ask for freedom to express your views, yet you want to pick and choose others desires for different views and different actions.

Prostitution if handled as a clean trade, harms no one. Yes, if a father/husband were to visit, he would definitly be harming the family/marriage. But, if it was going to happen, it is gone to happen. There is a movement in many of the modern cultures and societies of men choosing to not get married. Men who are slighted time and time agian by a more prevelant and harmful culture that caters more to the female while slighting the male, heck go check the latest stats from the divorce results and the custody battles. Men are the last free bastion to slight in our media. It is ok to throw out 18 trillion commercials telling men they need to drop all sorts of money on jewelry for their women, men on the other hand can buy their own stuff, as long as a women is helping and ok's it. Imagine some christmas or valentines commercials telling women that they would have better marriages, relationships and get more from their men if they remembered them in the bedroom. But no, all we hear is how so many women fake it, don't put out, think men are slobs and so on. Why do you think that strip clubs and hookers still prosper? First they told women not to give men sex because it was a sin, now they tell them that the woman is more than sex and she can do as she pleases.

So then we go back to prostitution. I go out, see a girl I like, I am expected to buy a drink, then ask for the phone number, maybe get a date, pay for it, make sure it is perfect, hold the super balance of bad boy/nice guy, maybe several more dates, then maybe something happens maybe not. Then down the road, I buy a ring for 2 months salary, then a wedding ring, then so much more, while I get some stupid generic gold band. If she suddenly decides she has changed, easy divorce and takes half my money, leaving me even more broken hearted and jaded. Or, I go to the clean brothel, pick the woman I want, we have an honest trade, she knows how to talk to me, make me feel good and so on. When it is all done, I hand over the money, she makes her money, we both win. Just like the strip club, heck I went Saturday night for a bachelor party, this chick tells me she really wants to dance for me. We go to a corner, and just talk while she rubs my head and makes me feel very good, I forget my troubles, and does a very talented dance . Buy her a drink afterwards and we continue to talk. I know this is her job, but for 45 minutes to an hour, I feel like a king, I have no troubles in the world.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing better than a full commited relationship, but sometimes, it is great to have the simple release of being cared for for a little while.

Not everything about this is entirely about sex, yes it is a big part of it, but as a male there is actually more involved then a warm hole.

So yes, there is my explanations using both morals and ideals and whatever else came to my mind. The world just ain't all that black and white to me, even if sometimes I sound like it is.

Prostitution has not been largely legal in this country for some few hundred years or more (someone correct me here). Certainly not in this or even the 20th century. Things are much different now then in the old west, when the trail warriors would rid into town, shack up with two honeys and move on. Hell, they were killing people in the streets on a regular basis then…we no longer do that sort of dueling anymore, nor do we allow prostitution, so to compare to that fact, that it’s been around for a long time, and we are still here is blind. Oh, everyone always brings up Nevada, well I got news for you…it was a short term fix for a growing problem, but the town is synonymously known as Sin City, what did you expect..? You have an adult tourist town; you are going to have to expect adult cravings. Why they legalized prostitution, I have no idea…but it was a weak way to “protect” their citizens.

Fact is, the moral fabric of society would be damaged. You say, well if they guy was going to cheat on his wife anyway, might as well be legal and easily accessible for him. Guess what, the guy with shaky morals, who wouldn’t cheat on his wife just because it wasn’t legal for him to get a prostitute, would end up shacking up with a slut just because society will accept it. Infidelity is out the window, it is no longer betrayal, it is “honey, I’ll be at the market, right after I pickup somethin’ somthin’”. Divorce rates are at what, something like 50%? I imagine with this newfound infidelity clause that percentage will go up. Is it our place to dictate what people do, or protect them form their own ill will? YES! Big government should be checked and balanced, and prevented from becoming “big gov”, however there are some things that have to be prevented, this is one of them.

As far as you pathetic rational comparison of a hooker and dating/marring…that is not an argument. It is a purely weak minded attempt to take away a societal norm and protection, just to fill you void for 45 minutes (and I don’t mean You, I just mean that in general). If you can’t walk into a bar, tell some chick you want to have consensual sex, and walk out of the bar with her, then you need to work on your personality skills. Because I guarantee, if you want some, there are 10 girls at any given club that would go home with you for stringless sex…and it is purely legal. Looking for a prostitute is the easy way out.

    Just one point about infidelity:

Scenario 1: Honey I had an affair with another women, I am sorry.....

Scenario 2: Honey I went and bought sex today.

Now which do you think is more likely to create a divorce?

Frankly scenario 2 would tell me everything i needed to know, a) he aint getting enough, b) he can't find someone to give him enough and therefore has to buy it.

Damn I would be laughing so hard, I couldn't divorce him.

Did you even read what I said? Did you even bother to take in anything without your bull**** preconcieved notions of what is right and what is wrong for everyone?

Legal prostitution is going to be what makes the man cheat on his wife, are you kidding me, how hard did you reach to convince yourself that is a rational line of thinking? How about if the wife was taking care of that aspect for her husband? *gasp* Cleetus didn't actually turn some blame back on the wife for her husbands desire to go out and actually know that a woman wants him to feel like a man *gasp* You are damn right I did. Prostitution didn't make him cheat, you might as well also be saying that "People don't kill people, guns do".

Fine, if he cheats on her, grounds for divorce, I never said any different. I was speaking for single men. How long has it been for you? How long has it been since you gave your all for a woman and got absolutly destroyed when it was over? How long has it been since you got divorced, she kept the children and you pay all your salary to her? Huh? Did you read what I was talking about in the whole damn post?

Easy way out, hell yes. It gets tiring playing the bar games, it gets old going through numbers of women, countless dates and so forth just to find someone you feel comfortable with. Have you ever been to a strip club and just got a girl to talk and make you feel good? There is something to be said for the redeeming quality of not having to care, not playing a game, just having a woman treat you right, even if it is for a price. Heck, like my economics prof taught us "there is no such thing as a free lunch". It is a market that has always been there, before your old west(and you are way off on dueling bub).

I hate church, I think that it corrupts and brainwashes youth and forces a corrupted antiquated unyielding dangerous morality on any who join. If I had a big mouth, the ability to get on platforms, to railroad stuff up to congress, should I be able to push this through and outlaw churches, outlaw the clergy cause I have a problem with their morality?

You call me pathetic and my reasoning pathetic yet won't actually talk on what I am actually saying. Dude, you best bring more than what you are bringing to this table, cause I have no work to do today and will keep this up all day long.

Funny, if it was a woman that cheated, most people would still be laying the blame on the man.
