Security Update for Microsoft Data Access Components (KB832483) won't install
hello, having an interesting issue.
i am trying to install the latest critical patch from microsoft and it looks like it installs fine, but after i reboot it says it is available to install again if i go to windows update.
i have turned off everything antivirus, firewall, etc. but that has not helped.
any ideas?
thanks.

What service pack level are you at? Are you logged in as administrator?

Then you shouldn't need the mdac update.

did that, still not taking. i am using the e-trust ezarmor virus software and firewall. i am going to place my bet that something to do with that software is the issue.

check the add/remove programs, is the mdac update there?
If so remove it, if not remove the others and redo the hotfixes.

noonoo, thanks for your help. i got it to install. i had to boot to safe mode with command prompt and run the executable patch from my c: drive root folder. it would not work just booting into windows safe mode and running from within windows safe mode. no idea why not, but it is now installed. thank you for your guidance.
