How many episodes are in Season 1 of Futurama, 9 or 13, because i just rented the entire Season 1 and there are 13 episodes, while tvtome.com are saying that Season 1 has only 9 episodes?

but if u see the release dates for each episode, then the last 4 episodes of season1 actually come together with season 2

Series one had 9 episodes, they stuck the first four of series 2 on the series 1 DVD to full it up.
