    ** Help with bootup **

    Hello guys, i have been working with computers for a few years and know how to fix alot of things, however today something happended and i have no idea how to fix it. Everything was working fine, Then my computer just crashed, this has happened before so i thought it was no biggie. So it restarted, went to start up screen where it said to press del to enter dios..but then just went to a black screen and stayed there. Everytime i start it up it goes to the same black screen and then stops. Any ideas?

    Check and make sure that the cpu and the memory are properly seated (pop them out and then back in if needed). Also I would try (if you have one) a bootable cd (ie the windows install cd or maybe a version of linux on bootable cd) and see if it boots up to the cd. If so then the problem lies in your hard drive. Good luck.
