    "Standard" procedures for terminated employees?

To everyone working as admin... I was curious what the procedures for employees that are about to be terminated are at your site - such as disabling accounts, forced logoffs, backing up their data, etc...
I normally disable their accounts and then force a remote logoff on their computer.

Same here, unless they are using a 9x flavor, then remote becomes me walking to there desk to log them off after disable.

What is it you want to know? Doesn't seem like much of a question was being asked?

Upon notification of a termination, we immediately disable their account and then either log their computer off or do it ourselves (we often get the notice while the employee is still being terminated). We then get to stick around while Security escorts them back to their office (if they aren't already there) and have to examine any data-containing objects (Palm, floppy/CD/ZIP, etc) before it goes out the door to ensure that there's nothing leaving that should not. Security does the same for physical belongings. Either their supervisor or an HR rep is also on hand to mediate any disagreements on what stays versus what goes.

I was thinking about including body cavity searches...but management here is against that kind of treatment. Too bad.

We are notified by security, account is disabled and their home directories are zipped and moved to an alternate location, we hold onto them for about a year I believe.

As for collecting what they have and such, thats handled by HR as they generally aren't even allowed to go back to their desks.
