King of the Mermaids
Question for the consumer in all of us...
What do you look for and expect to see when you walk into a store?
What turns you off the most about a store that would cause you not to return?
Where do you shop and why?

Too many vague questions
Otherwise I want it clean with helpful staff
If it is a car dealer, jeweler or something like that, I expect to be helped in a timely fashion. Remember when I bought teh voodoo ex a sweet tennis braclet. First store wouldn't help me as I had come in work clothes(jeans and tshirt at the time), saw something but as I was ignored and couldn't get assistance I left. Went across the way, was greated at the entrance and given great service, so I bought a $1000 braclet. Walked it over to the first store, stopped each salesman and told them about the sale they just lost. Similar from when I bought my last car as well.

Whilst good service is always welcome the one thing I cant stand is when you get pushy salesman. As soon as you walk in the door they pounce on you, which is fine but then as soon as you say "Im fine thanks Im just looking." it should be their cue to leave you alone. However they will stand there and watch and comment on everything you touch. "Thats the latest model you lookin at there." "Ya wont find that anywhere else."
I also hate when they tell you absolute bull^*it to get you to buy the product.
Customer: Will this hardware item run on my old Pentium 100?
salesdude: Why of course it will sir. Its designed for those machines.
2 days later..
Customer: This wont work with my computer, everything is too slow.
Salesdude: Well you didn't say that you only have 16mb ram and a 1mb video card. Here let me show you what else you need.
Bad salesdudes number 2 are usually the guys and gals that work in places like K-mart. You ask them if an item has a certain feature and instead of admitting they no nothing about the product they pick up he box and read the front panel out load.
Salesdude: Um well sir this product has super hetrodyne noise reduction developed for ultimate performance and is suitable for ages 8 and up...
customer: yes but does it play this game my kid wants?
Salesdude:Um, well um, it also has sleek new design with an ergonomic doohickey. So yeh it should do.
And heres my fast five of what makes a good store.
1. Lots of stock, so you can see whats available and dont have to wait to get things ordered all the time.
2. Prices on everything with no hidden costs.
3. Salesman that help when required but otherwise let you browse and are not afraid to be honest. e.g. "You dont really need that $300 widget. This $100 widget will suit you just fine." Honesty like that always secures repeat business and makes you more money in the long run.
4.Good displays showing your widgets and thingys in action and being able to play with them in the store before buying.
5. Good looking chicks willing to help you with your hardware requirements.

Hi there,
I always bug the salesman when I go to computer stores. Sometimes, I just don't need him. *lol* I'm not stupid. Plus, they don't know much. At times, I even test them, asking detailed information.
I think the worst place is Wal-mart. Honestly, don't want to be rude, it's where old peoples work and they don't know nothing. It's an awful place to shop, and work there, too.
