slow video playback?
I recently installed a new DVD burner into my computer and ever since my video playback for anything from dvd's to large mpeg files have been slow (video and sound skips). Now, I can get the files to play normally if I use the Nero software that came with the burner but it is still affecting my games, mostly just the intro to the games. I have been checking up on updated drivers but haven't found anything new. Any help would be apperciated.
Specs: AMD2200+, 1gb ram, all-in-wonder 8500dv video card, memorex dvd-rw burner.

Also have you updated to dx9 and are you using the latest ATI mmc?

Did you install that cruddy Interactual software that most DVDs these days want to auto install? If so, that could be the problem, the codecs in that stuff messes up all kinds of stuff.
Perseverance in all matters.

I'm not worried about playing files because I can always use Nero for that. Nero works fine. It was only after I installed Nero/the burner that all my other programs failed to work. I want my game movies/video intros and such to run at normal speed so if i can set thouse games to use a certain player please tell me how. If not, then help me reverse whatever happened because uninstalling nero didn't work for me. Oh and i'm sure i'm up to directx 9 point "something", because I can run the most recent games like BFV. Its the little EA intro and the movie for BFV that runs slow, not the game itself. It also happenes on other games too.

aah sounds like your codecs got overwritten then....
First of all reinstall dx9 then download and install the windows codecs again
