Hibernation Problems
Hi All,
Been working on a Packard Bell with MS 6340 Mobo. After a little while if no action the screen this baby goes into hibernation and doesn't come out of it even doing all the normal type of stuff like moving mouse or pressing any key on keyboard she still keeps on sleeping. I switch the system off leave for a while and restart but she still seems to be in hibernation. Has anyone had this problem and is there a fix or is the Mobo U/S
Keen to hear your answers.
Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,
Do you have a bios setting that would cause this?
For example "Wake on....." being disabled....?

Hi All,
Thanks for the timely response, forgot to say using Win Me. Tried BIOS settings etc still no go. Since the last time it went into hibernation when I start system it goes back to hibernation and screen does not light up. Thought it was a VGA Card prob but replaced with PCI Vga Card same thing. Bugging me, might have to put Mobo in the bin.

What are your Power Management settings?
I'm not really familiar with ME, but with 98 they are located in your Control Panel. You might try changing them to see if this helps the problem...

checked for bios updates for the mobo?
On a toshiba, remove the battery and with the ac connect hold down the power button until it turns off. Boot while holding down the backspace key....
Boot with a dos diskette? Delete or rename hiberfil.sys?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
