    Unhappy will read dvd's but won't write them

    hey,
    i have a cd/ dvd burner, it came with the computer and it will read and burn cd's but it will only read the dvd's it won't let me burn them. I have Nero start smart and when i go into the configuration it shows a tick next to read dvd's but it doesn't have a tick next to write dvd's! Is there a way to change the configuration and if there is how do i do it?

    Can we have a little more info please...
    What make/model of burner?
    What windows?
    Have you used the nero info tool?

    Updating your version of Nero to one that supports your drive may provide the answer and as NooNoo has stated more information is required for a clearer answer.
