    Pac-Manic Worlds 3D goes Freeware

Just Free Games announced that Pac-Manic Worlds 3D, an addictive fast action game, is now available for free. The full version weighs 1.9MB and be found here.
Pac-Manic Worlds 3D builds on the classic game Pac-Man. The object of the game is to eat all of the dots in maze while avoiding the ghosts. At the maze you can find large shiny dots. These are called Power Dots. When the hero eats one of these, he becomes more powerful for a shot time. During this time the ghost turn blue and you can eat them. Every level a bonus will appear near the ghost house. You have ten seconds to eat this bonus. Sometimes you can find the red teleporters. When you enter through one, you will come out on opposite side.

    Thumbs down

I know this is an old thread, but I downloaded and installed the Pac-Manic Worlds and Bugix Adventures demos from this site. HOLY CRAP!! These demos were just loaded with spyware! I had to run Spybot Search & Destroy and AdAware both to get rid of it all. After that, the system was borked enough that I had to restore from an earlier saved registry file (Win98 system).

When I installed a couple of their screensavers on my XP system at home, I got a warning that an attempt to install a "dropper" virus had been blocked.

Maybe it's just me, but they sure seem costly for "free" games. IMO a site to avoid.

Correction: I downloaded from the "parent" site www.sunnygames.com (same people, same games, also pay versions & demos).

    Dodgy.

It's just one of those things, you don't know until you try one of them out.

It just bugs me that I was fool enough to download the available demos, free games & screensavers and then burn them to an archive CD before trying them out on my system. I guess one CD-R isn't too high a price to pay (a screwed-up system sure is! ).

I let SunnyGames know what happened to me on the 'support' section of their site. They still haven't replied.

Took a chance and downloaded & installed the game; only one DSO exploit and one Alexa entry found after installation. Maybe they're cleaning up their act (possibly more customers than me complaining to them). I'd say just go for the free ones and avoid the demo versions.
