Welcome to windrivers moviebuff. You need the Intel chipset software. After installing it, go to windows update and install sp1 for xp if you haven't already.

Yes. Details of Code 28:
Code 28
The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28).
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver
Solution button: Reinstall Driver
This code means the device was not installed completely.
To resolve this issue, follow the recommended solution. If that does not work, try removing the device from Device Manager and using the Add New Hardware wizard to redetect it. You may need to obtain updated drivers if the error still occurs.

You want the VIA Hyperion drivers here: http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=403. Get the version 4.43 drivers (second choice on page), not the 4.51.

Sp-1
I've installed the intel chipset. Now I'm having a problem finding the link to get sp1. The computer I'm working on is not online so I need to save it to cd. Do you know the link? Thanks Again.

After working on my pc most of the night, I have found:
Video Controller (VGA Compatable)
Universal Serial Bus (USB) Contrller
Multimedia Audio Controller
All 3 of these have "code 28".
The update drivers is grayed out.
Even after installing chipset & sp1.
I am puzzled. Any suggestions???
Thanks!
